Recycling Crusher Update - Speed Detection


Working on updating the recycling button graphics and coding this week for when the crushers are activated. Players had previously given me feedback that the current setup of driving through and having the dragged object crushed didn't make a lot of sense.

There was a button for a while, but now this one will not activate if the first player through it is going at a minimum speed. This seemed like an easy enough solution to encourage players not to loiter around that area while not being too hard to implement.

Also, there's a smoother transition between the green and red frames of the button now.



Another small tweak was to scale the harpoon while being shot to give more life to it.



Other small updates and fixes included:

  • Removed rope gap between tow arm and rope
  • Loose rope Z-depth now between truck and tow arm
  • Whoops: Timer counted down forever (fixed - was for testing earlier)
  • Reset key adjusted to “1” opposed to all keys, escape key still is quit
  • Statues don’t keep breaking if R-trigger is released during a harpoon shot

This build was uploaded if you want to give it a try - just keep in mind a controller for each player is required.
