Carpoon Build Update


There's a few issues still to fix in this build but I've added quite a few updates. I focused on 4p controller support in this build and will add back in keyboard and mouse support again later.


Main updates:

-Added player select screen and scoring summary

-Player start points now in corners of level.

-when crushed, crying eyes go back to the start point but will change this later

-Player data object to keep controller number, colour etc on respawn

-Game can now restart after a match

-Running out of fuel + fuel gauges removed, now time based

-Player no longer explodes on harpoon impact in following scenario: After harpooning another player, recycling him, and collecting some coins

-Player can reel in with the L-trigger, including reeling closer to a wall

-Rock-paper-scissors effect: Players dragging are now faster than players being dragged to avoid stalemates

-Trophy for match winner with sparkles. Also added these sparkles to coins in the level

-Harpoon item pickup when a rope is cut

-Added controls scheme graphics

Working on:

-Adding back in keyboard + mouse support

-Long term: resolution issues when not 1920x1080

Sept 14th fixed/mini-updates:

-80% less screenshake when hitting walls

-Black exhaust when dragging

Sept 13th fixed:

-Player Numbers

-score showing up again at bottom of screen, adding P1, P2 etc

-keeping player select in the same positions as when they launch in game

-matching player slots to preset colours opposed to first player, first colour

-Sort players while being created to get scores in order at the bottom of the screen

-Invisible area near crusher’s bottom left no longer colliding with harpoon. It was an extending collision area between the crusher and crusher start point

-Fixed bug where game would crash when a player was dragged to recycling after his harpoon was cut off

-Harpoon:

-Changed to physics_bullet to try for betting collisions when it’s moving quickly

-Changed depth to be higher as it was behind walls

-Fixed gap between tow arm and dangling rope when harpoon cut off

-Scoring summary: A player’s score no longer resets to zero when he’s dragged into recycling after the time limit

-Escape button quits game once again (perhaps too quickly - should add a confirmation message later)

-Coins bounce (reflect) off  recycling center
