Keeping It Simple
Recently I had feedback from a friend to try simplifying Carpoon for gameplay and scoring. To start that, I added some more easy to change menu options to have no AI cars and matches based off stock.
Also, I removed coins to focus on harpooning cars and to make the scoring summary clearer at the end of the round. It's funny how removing elements of the game helps but shows that trying things quickly is sometimes needed.
Aside from that, I fix a couple things that were detracting from the experience. As seen at the end of the video, harpoons now collide better with statues and lava ball "craters" instead of previously where they only collided with the center.
The improvement is that buttons in the UI require being held down briefly to avoid confusion with multiple players making selections.
Will be working on sprucing up the UI next and a few other aspects!
