Team Play


While finishing up the "Volcarnage Island" level, one thing I wanted to try with the two volcanoes is team play.  Part of the idea for this level was to keep a tourist parking lot clear as sometimes they get really busy with nowhere to park. This could have been done with one volcano, but I liked the idea of dueling peaks that could affect the opposition in some way.

Think about how to combine the two aspects led to the idea that each side tries to have the most cars compared to the other. At this point, the crusher and car team setup is ready, but I'll have to decide if scoring should change in this level to be based solely on the number of your team's cars that are on the map. I'm looking forward to seeing in playtests if this is still as fun as primarily player-vs-player combat or if managing the cars adds to the tension.

There's also the issue of having the cars drive from the ship to a set point at a parking spot, but they will likely slide around the volcano and hut if necessary. Hoping that there will be no major issues to hammer out!


Also, custom colours are finally officially in the game. I felt that it was time to tackle a bug where colours were swapping between the player select screen and the level.
